Ryan James DeLaney

Ryan James DeLaney is an award winning film producer and director based between Los Angeles and St. Louis, and the founder of Mia Film Productions, an independent production company dedicated to developing documentary and narrative films with commercial appeal and meaningful social impact.

DeLaney specializes in developing, packaging, producing, and guiding independent film projects from concept through distribution. Working across documentary and narrative filmmaking, he collaborates with filmmakers, talent, investors, and brand partners to bring ambitious stories to life while combining cinematic storytelling with real world impact.

His producing career spans commercially distributed feature films, documentaries, and premium digital content. Early producing credits include the narrative features Corsicana, directed by Isaiah Washington, and Night Night, directed by Niki Koss. His work has been released theatrically and across major streaming and digital platforms, including Hulu, STARZ, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Google Play, and YouTube.

In 2025, DeLaney wrapped production on two feature vertical projects for FOX Entertainment, further expanding his experience across emerging distribution platforms and premium digital storytelling. His current documentary slate includes Wild Within, following acclaimed wild horse photographerand advocate Meg Frederick. The film is currently on the festival circuit ahead of its planned 2027 release. He is also producing Spelling It Out: Surviving SJS & TEN, a cinematic documentary amplifying the voices of survivors and leading medical experts to raise awareness of Stevens Johnson Syndrome and Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis.

In narrative film, DeLaney is producing the psychological thriller Symmetry, directed by Xavier Smalls, best known for his work on Netflix’s Beauty in Black. He is also developing The Runaway of the Outer Banks, a documentary series that continues to expand Mia Film Productions’ slate of premium nonfiction storytelling.

Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, DeLaney grew up training quarter horses and became the 2008 National Barrel Horse Association State Champion. The discipline, resilience, and work ethic he developed during those years continue to influence his approach to filmmaking today. Before transitioning fully into producing, he built a successful career in modeling, earning the title of 2018 Male International Supermodel, before studying acting and performance in Miami and appearing in productions including Graceland and The Hunger Games.
